True Impedance Level Attenuators

Linear impedance attenuators are mounted on balanced inputs I, II, and III.

These are extremely useful for today’s advanced components (converters, download servers, CD/DVD/Blu-ray players, etc.), some of which generate excessively high voltages—far exceeding normalized levels.

This excessively high level overloads the input stage and forces the user to set the level control on the line stage to very low settings, so low that the line stage effectively acts as an attenuator rather than a preamplifier.

The precision attenuators in the FM 266 MKII series reduce excessively high levels while maintaining perfect balance (no easy feat!). This, in turn, optimizes the overall system gain profile and optimal level control settings.

New modules are used for the input. They contribute to an astonishing 100dB suppression of interference, hum, noise, etc., making the FM 266-MKII immune to such negative effects.

This excellent interference immunity is not achieved through inexpensive operational amplifiers, but through a finely tuned discrete Class A circuit configuration, thus guaranteeing the final resolution achieved in a unique FM ACOUSTICS manner.
